The Mayor's Office of International Affairs (MOIA) connects the world to L.A. – and L.A. to the world. We build relationships with local and global partners to bring more jobs, opportunity, culture, ideas, and visitors to Los Angeles and to elevate our city’s international leadership on equity, sustainability, innovation, and more.
Mayor Garcetti is working to deepen Los Angeles’ global connections with our partners around the world through robust, inclusive, and sustainable trade and investment. Extending our businesses’ international reach creates more jobs and broader prosperity for L.A. workers, innovators, creators, manufacturers, and families.
Mayor Garcetti and MOIA receive international business delegations, create city-to-city channels to facilitate business expansion, and engage with foreign trade officers throughout California to build L.A.’s reputation as a global hub for cleantech, advanced manufacturing, mobility, digital media and e-sports, space and aerospace, and biotech. In partnership with World Trade Center Los Angeles, MOIA attracts, promotes, and retains job-creating international investments from more than 80 economies.
The Mayor’s Export Initiative helps companies, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, build their export capacity and capture overseas opportunities with support from our local, state, and federal partners.
Whether you’re an established business or a spunky startup, exports are a great way to grow a better business and your bottom line. Fortunately, Los Angeles has many resources to help you at any stage of the process. Contact us to find out how we can help you!
